“I am fascinated by obscure and obsolete words. Over the course of time we continually remove and replace words from contemporary usage. Essentially we create voids, only to fill them again, with new terms possessing, quite often, the same meaning.

My paintings explore the concept of definition. Words offer me a vehicle through which to express and redefine meaning, movement and transition. Discarded words conjure up imagery in the form of shape and color.

An unfettered need to visit and revisit language drives my inspiration.”
